EMU Spotlight Session: Effective Advocacy for Music and Art Schools

Dedicated to exploring powerful strategies for promoting the value of music and arts education, this Spotlight Session focusses on effective advocacy for music and art schools.

Spotlight on Luxembourg

Luxembourg recently made a groundbreaking decision to abolish all tuition fees in music schools, which is a milestone achievement made possible through persistent and effective advocacy. Claude Meisch, Luxembourg’s Minister of Education, Children and Youth, is presenting his country’s approach to music education, the reasoning behind this decision and what other countries can possibly learn from Luxembourg’s example.

Spotlight on the Czech Republic
Irena Pohl Houkalová presents the Magdalena Kožená Foundation, which was founded in 2016 by the world-renowned opera singer Magdalena Kožená. The organisation champions Czech music and art schools as a cornerstone of modern artistic education and works to enhance their prestige, nurture young artistic talent, and support innovative music school initiatives and projects.
